Anir Dhir, M.D., FACMS

Dr. Anir Dhir graduated with honors from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical & Electrical Engineering in 1990.  He subsequently received an M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha - the medical honor society.  He completed his Dermatology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.  Following residency, Dr. Dhir pursued a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery with Dr. Gary Monheit in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dr. Dhir spent 16 years in full-time practice with Dermatology Associates of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.  During this time, he successfully performed over 29,000 Mohs surgical and reconstructive procedures.  In 2003, Dr. Dhir was first elected to Best Doctors in America by his colleagues.  He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at both the University of Kentucky School of Medicine and the Pikeville Osteopathic School of Medicine.  He was co-creator of his practice’s website which was honored by the American Academy of Dermatology alongside the Mayo Clinic with the 2001 Golden Triangle Award for increasing public awareness of dermatology.

Dr Dhir was honored to join Healthy Skin Dermatology in 2017, and he now works alongside Dr. John Chen in the Mohs surgical center.

Dr. Dhir is a lifetime fellow in the American College of Mohs Surgery, and is board-certified in dermatology by both the American Board of Dermatology and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. He has authored numerous publications, and has also frequently served as a speaker at national academic meetings on topics related to both skin cancer and dermatologic surgery.   He has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, and public television as a guest expert, and has been quoted in various print publications during the past two decades.   Dr. Dhir previously served a 3-year term as a delegate to the Kentucky Medical Association, and has also served on the Service Council of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Service and Administrative Councils of the Lexington Medical Society. He is a former member of the AMA's Advisory Council on Family Violence.  Dr. Dhir has been married to his wife, Nathalie, for over 20 years, and they have two grown children.

He enjoys automobile and motorcycle racing, athletics, traveling, and cooking.
